Just Another Day

Run. that was the only word that was going through Aleas mind. Run. branches reached out and hit her on the arms and face as she ran. She had to get away from her master. If he found her he would kill her for sure.
Alea heard the dogs barking and howling behind her, tracking her scent. Suddenly she tripped over something. She hit the ground with a thud and all the breath she had in her lungs left her in a split seacond. She tried to get up but she could'nt get her feet back under her. All she could do was gasp for breath and fight to stay concious.

Tzil awoke and sat up. He was alone another day, all he had was his conscience and what he wore on his back. He cleaned the dirt off of his armor, and began to walk towards a nearby village, but heard dogs barking. His kind heart made him curious to as of what was going on. He decided to investigate.

He slowly made his way, until he noticed a young Elf laying on the ground. He crotched down towards her "Are you ok? You look hurt, Can I help you?" Tzil felt it was his responsibility to protect the defenseless. It was dishonorable to fight a weak enemy.

Alea finally got her breath back. When she heared the voice, she sat up quickly while fear started running through her veins. But when she saw it wasn't her master, she relaxed a little bit.
"I am okay thanks." Alea stood up and brushed herself off, the sound of barking dogs getting closser. Alea started to panic. "Sorry, but I have to get out of here. If I get caught, I am dead."

"You have nothing to fear. Whatever trouble you've gotten yourself into you need to stand up to it. Running from your trouble will not help you. Someday your troubles will run in with you, and you will have no where to run. Face your fear now." Tzil looked down at her. He smiled under his Minotaur Helmet. "I was once a Knight of the King."

Alea stared at the man and shook her head. "That is good advice but i do not think it will help me now." She said
"You do not understand!" Alea said urgently. "If I do not leave this instant, my master will hunt me down if it is the last thing he does, and kill me!" Alea started shaking with fear and tears started streaming down her white pale face.

"Do not worry, I will protect you. You will be not be dieing today, tomorrow, or any time soon while I am around." Tzil looked down at her, and tapped his fingers lightly on his sword. Her master sounded evil, and corrupted and he planned to fix that.

Alea was still quaking but desided the man was right. "Ok, but i do not know how this will end up..." Alea said in a shaking voice.
She heared the dogs coming up from behind her. She turned around to face them. Alea started to hyperventilate.

"Breathe, I am here. No one will touch you." Tzil looked towards the sound, and embraced himself. He knew not of her master, but he knew not of a lot of things. Nothing has never, nor will ever stop him from doing what is right."

Alea shook with fear but held her ground. She didn't know why but she felt she could trust this man. The dogs were now in veiw and raced toward her. It was like a contest to them; the one that brought her down first would recieve special treatment from their master. Her master was not far behind. As he came toward her, she suprizingly didn't move or even twitch.

Tzil stood behind her, his hand tapping lightly on his sword. Giving the belief he would use it if necessary. He saw the dogs, and watched them through his helmet. It truly amazed him how she could out run the animals. He would certainly have difficulties getting away. Tzil noticed her master and watched him carefully.

The dark man spotted Alea immediatly. Growling he said, "Get over here, insolent wretch."
"No." Came Alea's soft voice."
"What did you say to me?" The man took a step closer to her. Alea replied by taking a step back.
"I said, no!"
He rushed toward her and tackled her to the ground. He grabbed her throat blocking off her supply of air.

Tzil looked at the man. Studied him, certainly not one for honor. When he tackled her he took a step back and began to think. He withdrew his sword, and pricked it at the mans neck, pushing hard enough for him to feel it but not hard enough to break the skin. "I suggest you let her go, Sir."

He let his hands loose a tiny bit allowing her to breath in. Alea lay shivering on the cold ground to scared to move. He stood up slowly, the sword's tip at his neck. "Who are you to comand me, boy?"

"I am no child, my name is Tzil Kabasak, I was once a knight for the King. Now leave the child alone." Tzil looked at him through his helmet. "If you wish to live another day you will leave this child alone, I have dealt with far more things fierce than you" Tzil watched him, prepared to thrust his sword foward.

Alea's master nodded and walked from the scene. Alea watched him untill he was out of sight. She took a deep breath and tried to stand but her knees gave out.

"Rest child..." Tzil put his sword away and picked the young child up. "You will no longer be in fear of your master, and if he comes back i will be there to protect you." Sir Tzil smiled under his helmet and carried her towards his camp.
