Advice From An Elder

Keykku looked around timidly, before tiptoe-ing out of the bushes. She motioned for Finn to follow behind. The dragon, looking like an elven female, came out of the woods and sighed. The only thing setting her apart from anyone was her dark black eyes, solid in color. The girl shook her head. "There is NO ONE around here. Why do we have to sneak?" Keykku shushed her and move stealthily over to another patch of bushes. The dragon followed, reluctantly.

"I'll go take a bath. You... stand guard." Keykku looked around wildly, then backflipped into the woods. There was a small pool of clear water back there, one that she was going to use for bathing. The village was nearby, but that wouldn't be a bother. It was nearly dark, and scary things came out at night. Finn snorted. Nothing that she couldn't take. Folding her arms, she looked down at the black and grey clothing she was wearing. The black, raggedy shirt and the short gray and black skirt... pale bare feet. It was a wonder that she wasn't brown, for the dirt was really sticking today.

Keykku stripped down to her underclothing and jumped into the water, scrubbing her arms and legs first. Finn's ears twitched, trying to catch something that would alert her to someone else's presence. Nothing came, so she let it slide. She just kept her guard up, waiting for someone to come along. It would take Keykku a while, so she would have to wait. She wouldn't mind having a litte company to make it less boring, though.

The boy crept along in the form of a dog. He had followed the dragons scent here. He wasn't sure what he expected or really what he was looking for. It was not that long a go that the twins and he had met up with these two. He remembered thinking about the things he heard about dragons being wise. This was his chance to find out, he really needed some help. The only problem was how was the boy going to go about this. If the dragon knew the whole story she might want to eat him. Turning back into a boy he took a deep breath and revealed himself. The hybrid had done a lot of bad things, most things that he was just starting to remember now. The guilt and the shame was eating him alive and he just didn't know what he could do to make it all better. Hopefully the dragon wasn't going to randomly fall asleep and she was in a good mood.

Finn's ears perked up. Someone was near. She looked around. The presence didn't seem too threatening... so she backed off a little. If needed, she would just eat the thing. Or shift and scare it away. Or leave and let Keykku be seen and then Keykku would take care of everything. She snorted at the thought. Blowing her black hair away from her black eyes, she looked around quietly. Then a little kid appeared. Hey, she knew him. What was his name? Did she even know his name? She thought for a moment. Who cared?

Finn didn't know whether to speak or to just stay silent and stare. She would be more intimidating then, and perhaps nothing horrible would happen and she wouldn't have to talk or do anything else. Or she could be a nice, motherly dragoness and speak. That probably wasn't going to happen. But... what was the right choice? "What are you doing out here?" Shouldn't you be home? Eating supper? Doing something creative?

Xander looked nervously at his feet. How should he go about this? "well i...need your help." He said slowly and quietly trying to stop his voice cracking from nervousness. The hybrid looked up trying to find a clue in her face that would tell him what was going to happen next. At the same time his mind was racing to find the best way to give the dragon a sense of what was going on...with out actually telling her everything. The girl probably didn't even remember him and if she did it wouldn't be much. So him randomly asking for her help was probably strange. He didn't like it either, it was really awkward and scary but this was the only thing he could think of. His eyes were swollen from crying..he hoped she didn't notice as that would just make things more difficult. Another thought that struck him was that he hoped the other girl didn't emerge anytime soon. Talking to one person was hard enough.

Help? Why did he need her help? More of that 'Dragons are wise' crap, more than likely. Sure, it was true, but she was still a young dragon. Not much wisdom there. He'd be better off asking Keykku. "If it's anything disgusting, don't ask. I don't wipe other people's butts for them." The female flipped her hair and studied the kid. He was sad, apparently: he had been crying. Best not to ask about it, because she couldn't stand the waterworks. Just thinking about it made her cringe. Intense emotions... not her favorite.

"Okay, then. I'll help you. What do you need? Money? Shelter? Therapy?" Oh, gosh, I hope it isn't therapy. Finn stared at the boy. She still couldn't remember what his name was. How strange. Photographic memory was what she was going to stick with, so if she forgot anyone's name, they had better not be offended. The dragon stretched to this form's tallest point, and then slumped again. She didn't know how anyone could stand on two feet for this long and not move.

Xanders eyes went wide at the wiping butt comment "No it's nothing like that." He said hastily. That was embarrassing too think of. Great just what he needed for her to think he needed help with stuff like that. When she started going back to more likely and none disgusting stuff he sighed inwardly with relief. "Your advice, i need some advice for someone i know." He lied. It was a really dumb last minute idea. Inside he was cringing expecting her to see through his lie as he had seen her do back at the cave they all went to. He was going to go with friend but he didn't have any and he figured that would be a dead give away. So 'someone he knew' was the best thing he could come up with. If she believed that, the really hard part would come....explaining the situation.

Finn witheld a snort. "Someone I know", "my friend," oldest things in the book. He wanted to know something for himself. She was going to let him think her stupid, so she just went alog with it. Advice... as long as it wasn't wierding her out, then.... it would be fine. The dragon sighed and looked at the kid. "Okay, then. Fire away. What does someone you know want to know? What's the sitch?" The girl looked around, still making sure that she was doing her job efficiently. If she didn't, she'd be in for it.

This was strange the boy hadn't expected to make it this far. He had expected the dragon to either fall asleep, eat him, or see through his lie. But she didn't , she was actually going to help him. Xander tried to think of the right way to word what he wanted. Whether she believed him or not he intended to be careful of what he said. There was no way to make what happened seem less bad without lying about it but if the hybrid told her what really happened she would get really mad. "Well George did some really bad things but at the time he didn't know they were bad. Now he is really confused and doesn't know how to make it better. So do you have any suggestions?" He left it at that. Although he knew she would eventually ask what was going on, it would buy him some more time to think of how to explain that.

Really bad things? Not knowing they were bad? That was believeable. "Tell him to apologize. If that doesn't work, then I don't know. Make it up in more than one way. Mentally, emotionally, and physically." Finn shrugged. She proceeded to flip her hair and then look at the boy. Apparently he was a foolish child that didn't know whathe was doing in the world. That sounded like more than one person she knew.

Finn sighed. "What's going on with 'George'?" The girl glared at him, hoping he would figure out that she saw through him. She smoothed her clothing and then sat down. This was going to be interesting.

The boy was happy that things were going well and was relieved. However that shattered the instant she glared at him. Oh great she had figured out what was happening..or she knew all along. His mind was flipping out. What should I do? She is going to eat me if i tell her the truth! The boy called out in his mind expecting an answer. But of course none came he was on his own. "Your not going to eat me are you? I'm sorry i just .....it's really bad and i was scared of what you might do if i told you." He said quietly. Now he would have to tell the truth. Once she found out she would definitely kill him. Looking around he tried to find a good escape route if things went bad and then he sat down. Looking at the ground he sighed. "It's kind of confusing and you might not believe it."

Finn kept a dead serious face firm, unrelenting on her face. Sure, it was rather funny that he thought she was going to eat him, but that wasn't going to happen. "I'm not going to eat you." She did a weird looking crooked mouth thing, perhaps a half-grin, but not quite, and then looked at the ground and shook her head. "Trust me, I will probably be slightly confused, but I will probably believe you. Unless, of course, it makes me angry and then I eat you." Finn smirked, still looking serious. Although she was laughing on the inside.

What she said didn't really make him feel any better. He knew she would probably get angry and eat him. The hybrid hugged his knees to his chest and took a few moments to try and sort out what he was going to say. "Long story short i use to be the fire queens slave. Your suppose to do what older people tell you right? So i just did what i was told so that i wouldn't get punished. The weird thing is that i don't really remember doing the bad things she told me to do. It was almost like someone else did it. He was called bob, we use to share this body but we don't anymore. Now i know the truth about everything, he didn't actually exist and i was really the one who did all those bad things." Xander explained. He couldn't even explain it properly because he didn't even really understand what was happening. But now he would have to tell the dragon about the bad things. She was going to eat him for sure. He took a deep breath and swallowed. "I..guess.. i should tell you what I've done so that you can tell me how to fix it. " He began but he cut himself off. He could feel his emotions threatening to over whelm him. He looked away from the girl and tried to avoid looking at her. The hybrid didn't want to see what her reaction would be. Once the boy felt he had a handle on his emotions he continued in a whisper loud enough only for her to hear. "I killed people, destroyed villages, and a lot of other stuff i'm just starting to remember." He shut his eyes expecting the worse. Oh please just make it quick. he thought.

Finn listened for a moment, her eyes changing from indifferent to shocked. No wonder he thought that she was going to eat him. She blinked, and then stared at him. Sure, it was a long shot, but she believed him. Freaky things happened, right? But then, the things he had done... "I.... I don't know how you are going to fix that. Honestly, if you tried to help..." She shook her head. No use trying to be optimistic about it. Tell it like it is and not sweeten it. That was best. If anything, make it worse. She looked at the boy, feeling true pity in her heart. Poor little kid. Perhaps she should eat him just to put him out of her misery. But she wasn't hungry, and if she ate, she would be tired. That wouldn't go over well. "If you start crying I will eat you. BUT, there has to be something you could do to make it better. Help with the rebellion against the queens? Apologize to everyone? Switch bodies with this 'Bob'? At least then people couldn't blame you for it, because you looked different. I have no idea."

Xander looked at her and blinked. She wasn't mad and she didn't seem to want to eat him. He listened to her suggestions. He had already had the thing with Bob fixed. Bob had his own body now. The hybrid had tried apologizing already and it didn't work that great. So that left him with helping take down the queens. Sure it was a reasonable idea. The only problem is that someone would have to be in charge after. He didn't want to help get rid of them just to have someone worse come to power. Maybe Ying would be a good ruler. Although she was not much older then him. Then for some reason he thought about Lucien, he had no idea why. The queens wanted him dead because he was the real heir to the throne and because he was leading a rumored revolt. So perhaps the hybrid should support the prince. But there was no way of knowing what kind of ruler the guy would be. The guy was always really grumpy whenever Xander saw him and often talked about killing and other things. However Ying was with him and she kept him in line. So yes perhaps Lucien being king wouldn't be so bad as long as the twins were still with him. Then the boy thought of something Finn had said earlier about making it up to people mentally, emotionally, and physically. There was only one way to do that, he had to die. But first he had to kill the queens and help Lucien become king. "thanks..i guess i should go." he said standing up.

Finn stared at the boy. He seemed to be thinking. That was a good sign. She drummed her fingers on the tree and sighed. This was boring, really. Keykku had gotten done and had just stepped out of the bushes pulling on her shirt the rest of the way when Xander had stood up. Keykku just stared at him for a moment, and then turned around and walked back into the bushes. "Finn you stupid dragon! You couldn't have warned me! Jeez!" Finn laughed lightly and shook her head. Keykku was just too.... innocent and childish. She was slightly... pathetic, in a sense. "I'm glad to help you with something else, as long as you are in need." The dragon grinned and nodded at the boy, as if saying goodbye.

(( LOL. I think the only one capable of playing them would be you since you know how they should be. If you want this to continue then just make something happen. I only sped things along slightly because you kept bugging to have Xanders death scene played. >_< ))

When Xander noticed the girl come out he covered his eyes and practically tripped over himself in embarrassment. He saw things he really didn't need to. "yeah Finn! You should have told her so she wouldn't have come out." He said mortified. When the event was over and the bad image had past he looked at the dragon. "Bye, and i hope i didn't bother you too much."
