An Unsolved Mystery

Lucien spoke to Jade first. "I don't even know what I did." Then to the guard. "What did I do?" Looking to the twins he shrugged and tried to look innocent. The guard slapped on his mean face and studied the prince carefully before speaking in a weak, childish voice. It seemed like he was going to break into tears. "The captain you knocked out. He was our strongest man. Now... now we fear the town may be under attack. They are at the gates... asking for a prince. We... we don't know what to do. It seems as if we either give you up or..."

Lucien slammed his fist into the cage and broke the bar off. "Stupid, annoying, cursed people. You, you're human, right?" The guard nodded, looking like a lost sheep. "I'm the heir to the throne, twerp. Get out there and distract them for a moment. I'll think of... something." The guard scurried off, a tear streaking down his face. Lucien wondered if it was even a man.

Jade looked at Lucien and tried not laugh. "Your a prince? Seriously? Wow the royal family must have seriously lowered their expectations. "

"Aww come on don't be so mean. Grand pa will be the best king just wait and see." Ying said defending Lucien

Yang watched the guards scurry around preparing for a possible attack. He wondered who or what they would meet this time. Why was everyone after Lucien any way? He didn't even plan on taking the throne so it wasn't like he was a threat there. Throne battles were so irritating and confusing. He supposed the person in charge wanted to make sure their position was secure by getting rid of all possible hairs. Just in case they did change their minds and went after the throne.

"The royal family was bit scary. My grandmother was a random pleasure slave. My grandfather was the king. My mother was the offspring of the two, and she happened to hook up with a vampire and create me. I'm very, very screwed up." Lucien grinned and debated on what to do next.

Lucien sighed and led Percy out of the cage. Taking off the horses halter he grinned lightly and patted the creature on the rump. The horse walked away, probably going to terrorize some random person's flowers. Lucien looked around, thinking. Pulling the necklace out of his pocket he slid it around his neck, the holoform appearing randomly beside Yang. The holoform patted it's mouth like it was yawning. "You. Sacrifice yourself. Pretend you're me. You can actually get out of there. Lure them away so I can get out alive."

The holoform raised and eyebrow. "It's because I annoy you, isn't it?" The holoform strutted away, seeming to obey Lucien's 'order'. It was nice to be in charge. Thinking for a moment Lucien looked at the elf, the wolf, Ying, and Yang. "So. What's the plan? How do we get out of here alive? Sorry for dragging you into this, elf." Lucien wasn't really all that sorry. It was kind of fun to get more and more people involved.

Jade looked at Lucien and snorted, she knew he wasn't serious. "Well since you got us into this you can get us out. Why not just summon your army or what ever it is you royal people do."

"Why don't we start by remembering who the enemy actually is, instead of fighting among ourselves." Yang said irritatedly.

"While the holoform is buying us time we can go to the other side of the town and see if there is a back way out. It couldn't hurt to try." Ying suggested. And began walking into the city.


Xander was in the city hiding in an abandon house trying to stay out of the sunlight. The attack out side was just a diversion to try and lure Lucien out of the city. However, leaving nothing to chance the queen made him stay in the city in case he pulled some kind of trick and stayed inside. This time he was determined to get him. The queen decided to try a new tactic and offered the boy his freedom if he got Lucien. She even had a sorcerer bind her oath with magic so she couldn't go back on her word. Holding the small ring the queen gave him he waited for any sign of Lucien. The ring while he wore it would allow him to go out in the sun without being harmed but it only lasted a few hours each time and took an hour to become use able again. Thats how he got here and why he was waiting in this house.

"I planned on solving the problem, thank you very much."
Lucien followed Ying tentatively, wondering if there actually was a back way to the city.Trying to be quiet while at the same time thinking of other ways to get out, he spotted a strange looking little house. It was old and rickety; it caught his attention. The prince raised an eyebrow and walked forward cautiously, reaching out to touch it. The outside surface felt like it had dust on it. Must've been abandoned a long time ago. Snapping back to attention, he started forward once again, trying to keep up with the other three.

Something was troubling him. Lucien couldn't quite put his finger on it, but it was there. 'It' was a strange presence, somewhat chilling. It was annoying him, making him want to just turn around and kill whatever was causing it. Hopefully it would go away soon.

Bob felt worthless. This was a bunch of crap. He hated the queen, really wanted to squish her like a bug. That would be nice. To be free again.

((I wanna bring some others in, too. Then I shall have Bob, Lucien, and... others.))

"I think we have company" Ying said smiling.

"Not a good thing unless you know who it is." Yang muttered hating how this day was going. But then it dawned on him who it was. He looked worryingly at his sister.

"Oh great more of you." Jade said sarcastically.

"I know who it is." Ying said still smiling. But in her mind she was puzzled. It was Xander , however it didn't make sense that it would be him. How could he be out in the sun? Assuming it was him then this was not going to be a good day. She wanted to believe that the boy was good and she really wanted to help him. But if he was here to get Lucien then there wouldn't be anything she could do. She was barely able to help him the first time , convincing Lucien not to kill him this time would be hard, if not impossible. She nodded sadly when she saw Yang looking at her.

When Lucien passed by Xander put on the ring. When he was certain it was working he turned into a bird and followed the man. But upon seeing the others he started having second thoughts. He didn't feel right about being responsible for someone else falling victim to the queen. Even for his own freedom he just couldn't. Thinking about it he considered letting Bob take over, but quickly dismissed the idea. If Bob was in control there was no telling what would happen. The boy was torn between what was right and the prospect of his long awaited freedom.

Calypso walked out of her house, an angry expression on her face. That man just stepped on one of her flowers. Teapot in hand she chucked it at him as hard as she could, the teapot missing and hitting a bird in the sky instead. Dang, did she have an arm. Realizing what she had done, the dark haired girl didn't care. he squished a plant. Then again, she did just hurt a bird. Dumb bird had to go and get in the way...

"Calypso! What did I tell you about throwing teapots?" Liam walked out of the house, staring at his wife. Why did she always have to go and do that? It was a habit of hers; get mad, grab a teapot, chuck it at someone. It got rather annoying but Liam wasn't one to hold that against her. Calypso was adorable in her own little way.

Lucien ducked when he heard something whizzing through the air. That was freaky enough. Turning around he heard and saw a man, and a little woman who looked a little angry. Did he do something to anger her? Was she the one who threw the... teapot? Lucien rose a brow and looked at the bird the thing had hit. Poor thing. "What's with the teapot? Were you the one who threw it? Did I do something wrong?" This was all he needed. A distraction.

Xander felt something hard hit him and he fell to the ground the wind knocked out of him. After a few moments he turned into a small cat and continued following Lucien once he caught his breath. Clearly it wasn't safe in the air with people throwing teapots around.

Ying laughed when she saw the temperamental girl throw her teapot. "Nice shot except you missed him. Why are you throwing teapots anyway?"

"What the hell? Didn't your parents teach you not to throw things?" Jade asked irritably. She wouldn't have really care about the teapot thing if it had hit Lucien but instead it hit a poor bird. "That bird had better not be dead because of you!" She went over to check on the bird but couldn't find it anywhere. Strange, instead there was a small brown cat following them.

((Lmao at Jade's reaction))

"Hush, Liam. I can trow teapots wherever I want." Calypso folded her arms across her chest and looked to the red head. Why was he aways like that? sighing she looked to the blonde. "My dad taught me how to lose my temper correctly and how to aim. Sadly, the aiming thing didn't go over too well. And I'm sure that the stupid brid will be fine."

"Calypso! I'm not going to hush. You need to hold your tongue and be nice to these people. And you should feel bad about hitting the bird with your friggin' teapot." Liam looked around at the people, hoping that nothing bad was going to come of this. The bloinde elf was obviously an animal enthusiast, although that wasn't going to stop Calypso from doing anything stupid. "So do you guys know anything about the hub-bub going on outside?" Liam didn't want to ask, but felt he had to. Curiousity was overwhelming sometimes.

Lucien eyed the two, thinking for a moment. Watching Jade carefully he missed the moment when the seemingly dead bird turned into a cat. Where did that dumb bird go, anyways? A loud clatter from outside sounded, along with a few shouts. "Shit." Lucien looked around for a spot to hide but failed to do so. The hybrids were probably coming for him. The drawing of a sword was heard, Lucien noticed that it came from the strawberry blonde man. The guy nodded to Lucien, and the prince turned around. "Best to face my problems now, huh? Anyone with me?"

"Yeah well you need to work at it more." Jade said bitterly. She gave the brunette a glare and turned her attention to the odd sounds. " I'm not with anyone, I'll just wait here and make sure teapot girl doesn't kill anything."

The twins laughed at Jade and the brunette girl. They were both so mean but also entertaining. "Were with you Lucien." They both said. They stood by Lucien and waited for the inevitable fight.

Xander silently watched the group and waited for the right moment to strike. Right now would not be good since there was a bunch of people around.

"Calypso, you stay here with the elf. I'm going with them." Liam knew what he was doing. He didn't know the people, but he was itching for a fight. He didn't know why, but he was. This would be interesting. He was going to find out what was going on the hard way. As a few guards rushed toward them screaming, Liam had no idea what was going to happen. He took up a position toward the front, ready for anything. Or so he thought.

"You're gunna stay with me? I don't think so. Me and you, sister, we ain't gunna get---" Calypso fell to the ground, limp. Her eyes turned white and her body twitched a little. A vision, of course. Something important was gunna happen.

Lucien stared forward, wondering how this was going to play out. A few random, scary looking people were wlaking forward, wearing rainbow barf uniforms. They looked pale and timid, not liking what they were doing. Perhaps nothing bad would happen. Perhaps something horrible would happen. Why would it be now? At least people were with him. Soon a few large, bird looking things were gliding overhead, soon revealing themselves to be demon things with angelic wings. This wasn't going to be good. Apparently the Hybrids have more than one weapon.

As one of the bird creatures swooped down Liam hacked at it's wing, clipping the tip. Spinning he looked to Calypso, hoping the vision would hurry and pass.

Lemme have control in a minute. I've got a... plan.

Jade watched the brunette girl with a raised eyebrow. "What the heck?" She asked puzzled. It looked like the girl was having a seizure. She sat down and petted Hiowie trying to keep him calm. As a wolf he senses the danger and was deeply affected by it. "It will be fine, those morons can fight them off. Their not as weak as they look."

Ying had turned into a werewolf and was fighting ten guys at once.

Yang had managed to steal a weapon from one of the men and was fighting along side Lucien.

Xander still in the form of a cat was watching the scene and debating on what to do. Fine. Take over. He finally gave in to Bob no longer seeing any other choice. He just hope he would not regret it.

Bob shifted to a tiger and attempted to get at Lucien, but instead, was hit in the head with a teapot. Roaring he wheeled around, only to see a woozy looking brunette laying on the ground. Bob growled and cauiously stepped over to the girl, snarling. This would be fun, the little teapot chucker couldn't do much else.

With another winged creature swooping down Liam drew a dagger and threw it into the air. Instead of hitting it's target it hit the thing in the face and sent it spiraling toward the ground. Liam had decided he was going to be all over aerial assault, hoping he would be able to get a little more killing out his blade. He liked the sword better than the daggers and his bow that was in the house. As another swooped down he decapitated it, laughing lightly as he did so. It was probably a good thing he had sharpened the blade so well.

"Take THAT you stupid CAT!" Calypso stood and ran into her house, the tiger barley missing her leg. Slamming the door she rummaged around, trying to find it. It didn't have a name; she called it 'The Book'. As the door seemed to be pounced on she had found the book. She blew the dust off the cover and opened it up, trying to find an immobilization charm. That would get that stupid cat. As the door clattered to the groud Calypso grinned and shouted, "Congelo amplus cattus!" The tiger froze, then and there.

Lucien was wondering why the hybrids weren't shifting yet. Apparently it was the sun, or something of the sort. Or else the queen had a spell over them. Lucien was nearly ran through with a spear but snapped the thing in half before it struck, not knowing how he did it. He lunged for the attacker and bit into him, tasting the sweet red liquid most called blood. That was refreshing, and it would probably help. With his eyes now bright red he stood and wiped his mouth, marching into the crowd. Sword bounced off him with a metallic clang, occasionally he would attack a member of the army. Soon he came face to face with what seemed to be the captain. Mainly vampire, part angel, demon, and elemental. Lucien got right up in his face and shoved the man backwards. In turn the guy shoved back, stronger than he looked. "Call them off and I won't kill you." Lucien narrowed his eyes and grabbed the man's wrist, knowing brute strength prbably wouldn't win this battle.

Jade ran into the house and jumped over the tiger and looked at Calypso angrily. "What do you have against animals? First the bird, now the tiger. " She looked over the tiger and poked it gently. "what did you do to it?" she asked with a mix of frustration and confusion.

Xander regained control of his body momentarily and was able to break free of the spell by using his own magic. Turning in to a cheetah he swiftly ran out of the house and headed toward Lucien.

Jade jumped back in surprise when the tiger moved and then changed into something else. "ok...i guess thats no tiger. Something really weird is going on here." After a while she turned to the other girl. "By the way, what is with that episode you had earlier?"

Calypso watched the tiger shift and run away, her eyes narrowing. These creatures were a bit unnerving. "The episode earlier? Well... I'm a little psychic, I guess. I'm part Dark Angel, inheriting the ability from my father. That tiger thing is going to try and do something bad to that dark haired man. I'm not going to tell you much more than that, for it could only make things worse." Calypso nodded and walked past the elf through the door, peering out the frame. It only seemed to be getting worse, and a few of the townspeople had joined in fighting off the rainbow people.

Liam looked around, trying to find that pale guy. He figured it would be nice to stay by him, as he seemed to be the leader type guy. Charging into the approching horde he swiftly killed a few, nearly smashing into the two men in the center. They seemed to be trying to compromise. Taking a brief moment to recollect himself the strawberry blonde man singled out what seemed to be a stronger fighter, a challenge, and head on attacked him. The man struck back and parried the blow, striking on his own. It looked like Liam's instincts were right.

What the hell are you doing? Do you have a plan or something?! I hope you know what you just did, twerp. Bob snarled inside their mind, not going to get control until they were closer to the prince.

“Prince! It’s no use! They know I’m not you!” The holoform’s voice sounded strange coming from the hybrid captain. Lucien tilted his head to the side and looked amazed. He didn’t trust that guy as far as he could throw him. Tackling him quickly he pinned the man to the ground and punched him in the face. Instead of hitting flesh it seemed more like rock, and the thing fizzled a little. It was the holoform! “Call them off then, you moron!” The holoform looked stunned for a moment and then shook his head vigorously. “Can’t do that, sir.” Lucien stared at the form and he smacked it across the face, knowing that it didn't do any good. "And why, exactly, can you not?!?" Lucien's voice was filled with rage, his eyes blazing, his heart pounding in his chest. This was really going to get him going; he could feel it.

I think i just got us free from a spell. Us being frozen won't help anything. And no i don't really have a plan. Xander answered. He shifted into one of the towns people so as to not look out of place. He noticed Lucien punching some guy and crept closer.

The twins could sense Xanders presents but they didn't know where he was or what he was.

Ying you should go and find Lucien and watch over him. He is who their all after. Yang said to his sister. Don't worry i'll be fine. I'm not as strong in this form as i am in werewolf form, but i'm not weak either.

I'm sure you will be fine. And hopefully everyone else will be to. Ying answered smiling and headed toward Lucien. Unfortunately she was cut off by some fierce looking rainbow dressed men.

Jade followed the woman. "Interesting. I can't say i have ever met a dark angel or someone who could tell the future. Tell me does throwing teapots have anything to do with your mystical abilities?" She asked teasingly.
