A Fresh Kill (Open)

Astareal listened to the conversation. Who in the world were those idiots talking about? Her brow wrinkled, her mouth puckered slightly. Why would they need her help in the first place? She decided not to say anything unless a question or something was adressed directly to her. Why butt in? It was nice to eavesdrop, see what was going on. Once in every blue moon she would talk to someone and see what was happening, but otherwise, she remained uninformed. But it didn't bother her at all. It was actually nice to be kept in the dark, as long as nothing major was happening. Nothing was really affecting her daily life, so everything should be fine. If they needed her help, they'd really have to give her a reason too. She didn't do work for charity, she needed payment. It was just how she was.

[red]Kane wasn't trying to be pushy, but he knew he was making it seem he was trying too. He was just ready for something bigger than torturing drunks, and weak workers. He wanted something bigger, and something to give them world wide infamous .[/red]

Akuma looked back at Astreal and rubbed the back of his head. "sorry about that. Guy talk is all. So is the guy done being drunk yet?" The demon said trying to ease his way out of the awkwardness and into an actual conversation. He wasn't sure what to do now. Would it be best to wait and see if she presses for more information or just tell her out right? He figured the first option would be better.

Astareal shrugged. When Akuma asked a question, however, she gave him one of those grumpy 'Are you a complete idiot' look. "Do you know how long it takes the average male to become sober? But, besides that, there is some way to speed up the process. Anyone got anything containing caffiene?" The brunette had clean sweeped her emotion chart and had went back to being her normal self. Hopefully. Morty scratched the back of his neck like and normal guy, and Yrael pulled something out of his pocket and forced it into the man. "It won't be long now, Mistress." The cat boy bowed and shifted into his normal form, the little white cat with the collar. Astareal thought for a moment, before meandering over to the man. She placed a pale finger under his chin, and looked him in the eyes.

"Do you have any children? Or a spouse?" Because I want them to see you die. That'll teach 'em not to drink. Or to trust a man out on his own. The man nodded slightly. "Where are they?" The man shrugged. What an idiot. Astareal unchained him from the tree and drug him to his feet. Morty stopped scratching and looked at the man. Someone was hungry. "You'll get a two second headstart. That way, it may last longer. Try not to stumble." The man took off as fast as he could, off into the woods. Perhaps, if he could get away, she could spare his life without the other two knowing. That would be nice. She didn't feel like killing anyone today.

[red]Kane hated a chase, he felted tempted to just strike him down as he ran away, but he would hate to ruin Akuma's fun. "To give chase allows for greater excitement, but also allows for mistakes..." Kane flapped his wings, but stayed on the ground.[/red]

Akuma shrugged when astreal made the comment about him not knowing how long it took someone to become sober. He watched the guy run. "Agreed, so we just make sure there is no mistakes." He replied to Kane's remark. The demon had no intention of letting the guy get away. He used his fear ability to make the guy run towards the undead instead of away from it. Apparently the guy was more afraid of what Akuma conjured up then being eaten.

Morty skidded to a halt, because Astareal forced him to do so. Saraneth's voice still was ollding him at bay. "Stay out of this. There is absolutely no need to interfere. I have it all under control." Astareal's voice was laced with charm, she was trying to be persistant. Hopefully it would work. She needed no help from outsiders to kill this man. No mistakes were going to be made. Mistakes were accidental. She smirked at the thought. She would have to kill someone or else Morty would go back to where he came from. And that wasn't going to happen. There was a crash, a howl, and a few screams. The woman shuddered, feeling the presence of a new death. She closed her eyes and swallowed, knowing that it had to be done. Hopefully next time it would have more of a purpose versus just for the hell of it. Death was meant to be permanent. Death was meant to end things. She wasn't supposed to be meddling with time's flow, Mother Nature's decisions, but that was too bad. She wasn't going to argue with her gift.

Keeping her facial expression blank, fearless, she caught herself shaking her head. Biting her upper lip lightly, she looked around. Yrael was twitching every now and again. He could feel it, too. That lead Astareal to wonder, were she and Yrael the only ones to sense the very presence of death? Or did others sense it too? If they did then people would learn to sense them coming and would be able to get away in time. Perhaps it was best to keep them to herself and only use them for specific reasons. Then she would still keep hold of the element of surprise. Morty came back, reenergized and full of life.

((Continuously I remind myself about how many... puns, maybe? I make in this post. Every little mention of life and death can be taken in two different ways. ))

[red]Kane felt the need to end this now, just strike the man down with one quick strike of fire. But he didn't he would do as he was told, and not to interfere just yet. If the man began to run he wouldn't get far/[/red]

Akuma sighed and stopped interfering. The demon heard the crashes but thought nothing of it. What happened to people never concerned him unless it was entertaining him. He looked at astreals reaction. For someone who dealt with death, she didn't seem to be too pleased by it. The demon figured someone died when her undead wolf thing came back with more life in it. Hopefully it was that drunk guy. "So what now?" The demon asked casually.

Astareal unconciously patted Morty on the head. "A little more fun would never hurt. Run." Astareal grinned maliciously and jumped onto Morty's furry back. The creature snarled and went at Akuma. The brunette shook her head and laughed. She had done that purely to see what he would look like when that card was played. She was dead serious whilst saying it, too. The woman jumped off the Mordicant and looked at Yrael. "Any updates?"

"Nope. Nothing. The inside sources that you've so convieniently thought up are worthless."
"That makes two things I have under my control worthless then, doesn't it?" Astareal grinned at that. Surely that would make the little jerk shut his trap. Perhaps that would've confused the two, made them think 'What's going on' or 'What are they talking about'. But she doubted that would happen. What was going on where her sources were concerned no one but she and Yrael... maybe not even Yrael. But, he was a evil little helper, and he was a nice thing to sacrifice at times.

Akuma raised his eyebrow when the undead thing turned on him. The demon was about to attack it when it stopped. It seemed the women was just fooling around. "You have quite the twisted humor i see." He said smiling. On the inside he was rather mad, he didn't like it when his games didn't work in his favor. He was use to winning and being in ultimate control, having someone turn on him was not suppose to happen. He half wondered what she and the cat were yakking about but didn't bother asking.

"Twisted? Hmm. Never thought of it that way. But I guess that if you say it's twisted..." Astareal just trailed off, knowing her words had little, if any, meaning, and that she didn't need to waste her breath using them. She grinned for no apparent reason. She was urged to sing by some strange instinct, and went with it. Throwing in random noises as she did. No matter how chaotic it may have seemed, it made sense. The melody was soft and lulling, the harmony it had by nature was a bit more rough. The prefect blend. Yrael shook his head. She was an idiot. He stared at the demon, his golden eyes shining eerily in the darkness. After Astareal had her fill of singing, she looked at Morty. "You can go now. I'll call you when you're needed." With that, the creature bounded off. They were so obedient... she wished men were like that.

Akuma just smiled at her reaction. "I forgot to mention earlier, i think you sing beautifully. You should consider making it your occupation." The demon commented when she finished her song. When he noticed the cat looking at him he gave it a glare. He didn't know why but that cat really annoyed him...the necromancer kind of did to, and Kane did also at times. Thinking of Kane he looked at him and sighed. That guy was such a joy kill, he never said anything and it drove the demon crazy. Akuma was impatient so there were a lot of people he was annoyed with. Perhaps it was just him, oh well....

"Thanks, I guess. BUT, I still would never go into a singing career or something. That would make little sense. My singing helps me calm people, clear their minds, and manipulate them. Therefore, I wouldn't want too many people to get immune to it's effects. Or something." The purpose of Astareal's 'or something' was to add emphasis to the point that she just liked her singing and she didn't know what all it would do to people. She sighed and kicked Yrael, noticing that Akuma was glaring at him. The cat didn't like him. Astareal... didn't care for him. Yrael seemed to have a bad feeling though, and that was obvious. She didn't like it when that cat got bad feelings.

"Too bad because i would definitely go and hear you." Akuma commented. He smiled when she kicked the cat. At least it seemed she didn't like it either. The demon wondered what he should do now. Perhaps it was time to cut the nice guy act and just be straight with what he wanted? But manipulation was far more entertaining just asking her wasn't enough. He had to make her think she wanted to help him, that it would benefit her, or that not helping him would be bad for her. That was the trick though, to manipulate someone effectively you had to know something of their goals and insecurities then play those against them. Her only goal seemed to be to play around with dead people and her only issues seemed to be that too many of her 'precious children' got destroyed. How annoying that he would actually have to put some effort into this.
