Strange dream (Admin)

Foot steps echo across the stone steps as a boy walks along the abandon hallways. Xander looked around at the old dungeon. He wasn't sure why he had come to this place. The place he spent most of his life...After a few moments he remembered. Thats right, it started because of the dream he had. In the dream he was back in time and he had been sent on a mission. But he didn't want to go because there was something he didn't want to leave behind. Then he woke up and came here. It was really strange and the hybrid didn't understand what was going on. Did he really forget something? Was there something important down here that he needed? Maybe it was just a dumb dream? Somehow though he couldn't shake the feeling he was having.

The boy came closer to the dungeon and tried to peer through the crack between the door and the wall. He couldn't see anything and there were no keys anywhere to open the door. Xander considered breaking the door...but that wouldn't be a nice thing to do even if it was old. Maybe he should just forget about it and go to sleep. After all wouldn't he remember if it was important? The white haired boy was about to leave when he heard a noise. There was someone else here. "Who is there?" he asked trying not to sound as scared as he was. He wondered who would be up this late besides someone nocturnal like him.

Kariya was walking through the old dungeon, not knowing why he was there. Maybe it was because of his sense of adventure. Maybe it was because Ransom wasn't being exciting and Finn was grouchy as usual... so he had decided to sneak out in the middle of the night and go exploring. Sounded stupid, sure, but he wasn't exactly defenseless. That only made the other idea all the more appealing. So he had packed his knapsack and set out, drawing his hood around his face. He liked to blend in with his surroundings, so he was wearing all black. His green eyes reflected what little light there was, bouncing off and dancing in the dark. He was tempted to light a lamp, but had decided against it last minute. Maybe it would be better if he just went about his buisness without seeing all. There were probably some pretty scary things here...

Something scurried by and Kariya stopped in his tracks. He stifled a small squeak, and looked around. It was just some stupid animal, a rat or a mouse. Both were disgusting and virtually harmless... there was nothing to worry about, right? Hiking the straps of his pack up, he looked around in the dark. His ears twitched, picking up the faintest of noises down the corridor. He decided to take a few steps forward and then jumped back when he heard a voice, screaming like a little girl for a moment until he got his bearings.

"Are you trying to give me a heart attack? I almost made a mess in my pants. I'm pretty sure I don't know you but... My name is Kariya Wattson." And I'm a dragon rider. Perhaps it was better to not add that little detail in. Not yet, at least. He didn't have any dragons and there was nothing to speak for it so... he was good. For now.

Xander looked at the boy who had appeared. It seemed he was scared to. Or rather it seemed the boy was scared of him. When Kariya mentioned a heart attack the hybrids eyes widened in horror. That sounded really bad and dangerous. "I'm so sorry i didn't mean to.......uh..maybe we should get help..?!" He said in a panicky voice. The hybrid stopped in mid run and looked at the other boy. The hybrid calmed down and tilted his head in a questioning manner. "Shouldn't you be more worried if your heart is being attacked?" The green eyed boy was so calm so maybe it wasn't actually something to be worried about.

Kariya scrunched his eyebrows together and gave the other boy a funny look. "There isn't anything attacking my heart. I don't think. It's just something I've heard Finn say when I did something that 'scared the daylights out of her'. I don't know what that means either. She talks funny. But... I think my heart will be alright... so we don't need to go get help." Kariya looked at the other boy curiously. Maybe he understood the same amount of things as Kariya had. It was hard to tell, really. It wasn't like he had known the other kid for a lifetime...

"Why are you down here, anyways? I was curious and felt like exploring. Oh, and I don't know your name yet, either." Kariya took off his hood and shook his blonde hair, which still looked like a tangled mess. He liked it that way. He wasn't going to brush it until he had too. He liked being natural. Shifting his weight from foot to foot, Kariya began to get a bit antsy. Now that he had found someone maybe they could play together! Perhaps they could be BEST FRIENDS! Maybe they could have a treehouse and a secret handshake and a code word...

Xander looked at the boy in a confused manner. He rubbed his head and kept looking at the other boy. Then Kariya mentioned that he didn't know his name. "My name is Xander. And....i was exploring to." He thought maybe that would be the best answer. This blond was really confusing him. But since he was associated with the dragon Finn that might explain why. Finn was very wise and helpful though she could also be really confusing. Wait how did this other boy hang around Finn with out getting eaten or something? It was tempting to ask about it but that seemed kind of a mean thing to ask someone you barely knew.

Kariya's eyes grew wide. "Really? We're like two peas in a pod then! Only I can get annoying and rambunctious... or at least that's what Finn says. She always yells at me for not eating my green beans... eww. But I would like to explore with you, if you don't mind." The blonde boy smiled as big as he could and fiddled around with his knapsack, getting comfortable again. The straps would start to dig in if he didn't readjust it every now and again. Looking at the white haired boy, Kariya was tempted to ask about his hair color. Then he thought about how that might be racist... and that was a bad thing. Finn told him not to ask questions that could be hurtful unless he was sure they wouldn't be. But he didn't listen to Finn all that often, which just got him into more trouble. Speaking of Finn... had she figured out that he had snuck out yet? Oh, crap. He had mentioned Finn, hadn't he? Well, at least there wasn't anything said about her being his dragon. So his secret was still, for the most part, safe.

Xander was taking by surprise at the other boys reaction. He hadn't expected the other boy to want to hang around with him. Ignoring the parts he didn't understand he nodded when the boy mentioned wanting to go with him. "if you really want to." Maybe it would be fun for both of them. This was really weird for him though because he hadn't interacted with someone his own age before. "you can lead the way." There was nothing better to do and it didn't seem like there was really anything here important.

He wondered though about Keykku wasn't Finn her dragon? Was this boy related to her somehow. Wait could it be that...........He shook his head. Now was not the time to be remembering such disgusting things....

Kariya gave one of his biggest smiles ever and began to walk down one of the corridors, only to end up tripping over his own foot. Falling, he was pretty sure he scraped his elbow and wanted to cry about it. Whimpering, he got up to his feet and pulled up his jacket. Sure enough, there was blood on his elbow, coming from a scrape about the size of a quarter. Rubbing the cut lightly, he decided that it was nothing major and he could keep going. Although, before he did this, he took a bandage out of his pocket and stuck it on the small cut. "Better to be safe than sorry, I always say." Looking at Xander, the boy smiled. "We should go explore the torture chamber or something cool like that. I wonder what other kind of places they have down here." Looking around, Kariya placed his hand on the wall. He pulled it away quickly and with a yelp. Wiping his hand on his pants, he tried to ignore the fact that it was all cob-webby and disgusting down here.

Xander watched the green eyed boy curiously wondering if this was how boys around his age were suppose to act. The hybrid followed the boy silently stopping abruptly when the boy fell. "Are you ok?" He asked even though it seemed the other kid was.

When the other boy mentioned wanting to see torture chambers he looked at the boy shock. Why would somebody want to see awful stuff like that? Not wanting to seem like a wimp he quickly looked away and readjusted his features to appear calm. "It's a dungeon so they have all the things you would expect to find." He commented when the other boy questioned what they would find. The dungeon had, well dungeons to keep prisoners and slaves in as well as torture chambers and even places for execution. Were boys his age suppose to want to see and be interested in stuff like that? Because it just made him feel sick.

"As long as it doesn't get infected I won't die or anything, so... I'll be alright."

Kariya looked at Xander in a funny way. "We don't have too, if you don't want to. I onlly wanted to go as sort of a... history lesson kind of thing." The blonde boy gave a tentative smile, wondering why Xander seemed to be so... upset? by the subject. Maybe he wasn't a fan of the past. Perhaps he was one of those people who left the past in the past? But why would he be down here if he wasn't interested in it? This dungeon wasn't exactly used any more, so...

"What was in that room you were looking into earlier?" The question had just popped into the boy's mind. That had to be what was going on. Maybe there was something in there Xander didn't want to share with Kariya. When this thought popped up in the boy's mind, he got a mad look on his face. Even though he wasn't supposed to make false assumptions, this wasn't very nice. You don't keep secrets from your friends.

Xander looked at the boy when the blond started asking questions. "why are you mad?" Did he do something wrong. Was he not suppose to be down here? Kariya had an angry look while he was asking questions. The hybrid didn't understand what he was doing to make the other boy mad. Was it because he wasn't telling the boy the real reason he was down here? But the white haired boy couldn't do that......he didn't even really understand the reason himself. He walked ahead of the boy and stopped with his back to him. "you want a history lesson? Isn't there a place called school you can go to learn about it?" Wouldn't it be better and less creepy to learn about the past somewhere safe and far away? Being down here would make the lesson far to real and.....it probably wouldn't be a nice thing to learn.

Subconsciously the boy rubbed the back of his neck trying to think of how to answer the question with out leading to more. " there isn't anything there i .....i guess i was just sleepwalking or something." It was possible wasn't it? He heard about people doing things while still sleeping. Hopefully this would work because he didn't want to talk about it. Maybe he should just leave now and let the other boy do what he wanted? But then wouldn't that just cause more questions if he were to just suddenly leave? The boy wished he hadn't come down here then he wouldn't have been in this position.

"I just thought that you might not want to tell me your real reasonings for being down here. I would like it if you shared, but... if you don't want to you don't have to. You have the right to your privacy and I should be able to control my temper better." Kariya sighed and looked at the ground. Maybe he should just shut off the thing that made thoughts? Then he wouldn't be able to get mad at anyone. That might make it a bit better, right? Looking at Xander, the blond tried to clear his mind. That changed a little when Xander commented on schooling.

"The only school there is was completely full and I didn't have the slightest chance of getting into it. I'm striving to be rather self taught and Finn is helping me with other things." Kariya decided that it was time for him to just keep his mouth shut and ignore a lot of other things. When Xander explained, he nodded quietly. Perhaps it was time for them to go their seperate ways. As soon as this thought occured, Kariya's ears began to pick up a distant sound. The sound of foot steps. Who else could possibly be down here?

"I think we should try to find a hiding spot." Kariya got his bearings, the faint sensation of fear beginning to emerge. The footsteps grew louder and louder... they definitley weren't coming from a small foot. The sound was too loud... too precise. Whoever it was knew where they were going. Kariya looked around, pulling up his hood and standing against the wall. Little light was getting through and as long as he stayed still there was no way he would be getting noticed by the stranger.

Xander silently looked at the boy while he talked. The conversation was going no where witch was fine with him. Although the hybrid felt kind of bad because he was lying. When he heard the foot steps he looked in the direction. What was down here with them? The foot steps seemed unusually big for a human. They getting closer, whatever it was obviously knew they were there. When Kariya suggested hiding he nodded that sounded like a good idea. The only problem was that there weren't many places to hide. It was dark so maybe the thing wouldn't seem them. The boy hid in a dark corner not to far from where the other boy was hiding. Hopefully what ever it was wasn't hungry and didn't eat little boys. Was it possible that it was Finn? A dragon or werewolf seemed to be big enough for the sound of the feet.........but would Finn really purposely try and scare them? He didn't know about Kariya but he kind of hoped it was just Finn. Though if she was mad then that wouldn't be too fun to deal with ether.

Kariya pressed himself against the wall and breathed as quietly as possible. The footsteps came closer, grew louder. Abruptly, they stopped. There was the jangle of keys, and the the creaking of a door. Within a few seconds, the footsteps were coming toward the two boys again. What the heck was going on? Why would you unlock a door and then just continue walking? Maybe he hadn't unlocked it. Maybe he had locked it back up after putting something inside. Maybe it was a sort of storage closet. Maybe it was.... he stopped thinking when a familiar hand grabbed his ear.

"Oww! Finn, that's my ear!" Kariya squirmed and pulled away, rubbing his ear. "Why do you have to be such a big meanie? You could've said something! You didn't need to scare me like that." The blonde boy pouted, looking at his feet. Finn shook her head and shifted from her larger, male form back into her normal female one. "You are in big trouble, kid. You can come out now, Xander." Finn's voice was so dull, so emotionless that it seemed rather... ominous in the empty corridor. Kariya looked at Finn and grumbled, something about being mean, and then resumed pouting.

"It's dangerous to be down here, you two. Although I'm sure Xander can fend for himself, you can't, Kariya. You shouldn't be that foolish as to come to a place like this."

"That's where you're wrong, Finn. I can defend myself well. You just don't know how I do it. Only Ransom does, because Ransom is awesome and you are a mean old grump."

Xander watch as Finn seemed to appear out of no where and grab Kariya by the ear. He held back a giggle while he watched. When he heard Finn say his name his expression turned from amusement to shock. How did she know he was here? The hybrid boy came out an looked at the two wondering just what was going on. It was kind of creepy how she was able to find them so quick....that and how she knew he was here. The boy was certain no one saw him come down here. "how did you know i was here?" he asked puzzled.

"Nice night for an adventure i guess." Ying said smiling at the three as she too appeared before them. She thought something was going on. Her bedroom was not too far above the dungeon and with her hearing she was able to hear the noise down below quite easily. However she couldn't really distinguish what it was so she had come to check. Seeing that it was just Xander and another boy exploring she didn't mind at all. The werewolf was just happy that it wasn't something dangerous.

Xander jumped back in surprise when he heard Ying's voice and see her also appear from the darkness. Where was everybody coming from? Did he somehow wake up everybody in the castle? Thinking about that he started to feel ashamed. Maybe this wasn't a good idea. Stupid dreams he needed to learn to ignore them like everyone else.

Seeing Xanders reaction she smiled lightly. "sorry i didn't mean to scare you. I had to make sure that we weren't being attacked or something."

"is your heart being attacked to? Kariya said his was being attacked earlier because i scared him." Xander asked concerned.

Ying covered her mouth with her hand and tried not to laugh. The hybrid was so clueless and funny. How could she explain with out hurting his feelings... She looked at Finn. Maybe she would do it. The dragon was good at explaining things, though she was pretty blunt and didn't always say things in the nicest way. But at least she wouldn't have to do it if Finn did it.

Finn was having a staring contest with Kariya, the boy defiant and angry, Finn nearly emotionless with a pinch of anger. The two held each other's gaze for a moment, until Xander spoke and Finn looked to the boy, leaving Kariya alone for a moment. "I had a hunch. Try not to underestimate your senses. That and I can see in the dark better than you may think." The dragon shrugged, offered Xander a smile, and looked back at Kariya. He kicked a rock and looked at his feet. Finn always had to show up and ruin the fun, didn't she? Ugh.

Simultaneously, Kariya and Finn looked at the newest arrival. "Whose that?" The blond looked at Finn, who shrugged. The boy grumbled to himself about how she never told him anything. He knew she knew, but she must've felt that he didn't deserve to know. That was how she typically punished him. Refusing to say anything, not answering his questions, driving him insane from the silence.

Watching the girl with utmost curiousity, Kariya looked at Xander when he made the comment about the heart being attacked. Doing a mental face palm, he shook his head. That kid took everything too... literally. He was alright, though, when it came down to it. He looked back to the girl, who was looking at Finn like she was expecting the dragon to explain. Kariya sighed. Why? Finn didn't know everything. She was just a serious old dragon who liked to act like she would bite your head off. He didn't believe that one bit, or else he would've been decapitated by now.

"During a heart attack, your heart isn't actually being attacked, Xander. Most heart attacks are caused by things your body does, specifically clotting of blood in your coronary artery. Kariya was simply exaggerating the fact that he was scared. He tends to do that." Finn had taken up a lighter tone, and Kariya had decided to slink around behind her so that he was closer to Xander and the other girl. He didn't want to be that close to her... just in case.
