An Unsolved Mystery

Lucien lay on top of the warm, squishy little boy, trying to find a reason for him to act so differently. Maybe the kid had a really messed up mind like Lucien. For some reason his mind seemed clearer when he was in werewolf form. Apparently it was easier to silence the vampire when he was a werewolf. Lucien had nothing to say and didn't want to move, in fear of Xander trying to do something. He also figured that if he said something stupid he may be the one to get yelled at.

What are you doing?!? I almost had him! Lousie, kid![/i]

Liam picked up Calypso and carried her over to where everyone else had gone. As he sat her on the ground he drw his sword again and approached the kid Lucien was laying on. It was kind of wrong, but he was sure that he'd get over it. "Want I to kill him, too?" Liam was standing there, sword erect, waiting for someone to answer his question.

Calypso was sad when she was put down. She liked being carried by Liam. When he asked if he could kill it she ran up there and took his sword from him. "That one seems normal. Leave it alone!" Calypso stamped her foot and hid the sword behind her back. She knew Liam didn't like her having sharp objects.

"I think you can get off him now grand pa." Ying said. "whatever strange thing was going on with him earlier is gone now."

Jade glared at Liam. "You need to calm down and control your urges. Seriously your a sword happy maniac." She said in an annoyed tone.

Xander didn't want to say anything in case he said something that made them want to kill him after all. He tried to find a friendly face to look at for reassurance. He watched Ying, he really hope he didn't hurt her. She seemed to be the only one on his side. "i'm sorry." He said quietly.

Lucien didn't know what to do. He had no doubt in his mind that he couldn't get off the boy; he just didn't know if he wanted to yet. Xander was just so unpredictable... "You are one of the wonders of the world, kid. Why do you change so suddenly?" Lucien's eyes were curious and untrusting. He wasn't going to get off him. Not yet. He was just too dangerous and unpredictable. Hopefully he'd get a decent answer.

Liam returned Jade's glare. "You don't understand my urges to kill things." Liam looked away, not really wanting to get into an argument right now. He managed to get his sword back from Calypso and stuff it back in its sheath. Looking to Jade he nodded, in a sarcastic, almost mocking way, and then looked to Lucien and the boy. Liam didn't know what he would've done in a situation like that. IF someone tried to kill him he definitley would kill them first. Especially if that someone tried to harm Calypso.

"You know, hun, she is right. You really don't need to try and kill everything."
"You don't need to throw teapots, either."
Calypso huffed and smacked Liam on the arm. Why did he have to be such a twerp?

Jade ignored Liam but smiled when Calypso took her side. "I would rather have someone throw teapots then kill things for no reason." She said deciding she might as well stick up for Calypso.

Ying went over to Lucien and looked at him seriously. " You know when i told you what your favorite food meant, well there is something else. Tomato soup and grill cheese are easy to mix up and can have a variety of flavorers going on at once. You can make your grill cheese with different cheeses which can alter the balance and disrupt the soup. You are tomato soup but the other parts of you are the different grill cheeses. In other wards sometimes you are not really yourself and become something else. I think the same thing is going on with Xander, except more extreme."

Jade raised an eyebrow and looked at the male twin. "Why is she talking about soup and sandwiches for? Geez you guys are all crazy am i the only normal one here?"

Yang shrugged but smiled. It was odd but somehow what she said made sense.

Lucien raised and eyebrow at Ying and sat up, keeping one hand on the boy's chest just to make sure he wasn't going to try anything. "You think. We don't know that for sure. That and, how the heck is he out in the sun?" Lucien looked as confused as he felt. He understood the food thing but it was just so strange to see the little twerp act so differently. Maybe it was as Ying said, but Lucien still didn't trust the kid. As a matter of fact, he didn't even like the kid.

At least tell him to stop trying to squish us.

Liam sighed and kicked a rock. Why was this taking so long? And why was he the one to get yelled at for being sword happy? "I'd rather be sword happy than a rude person that has no friends besides a cute little white wolf." Liam looked so serious and emotionless it seemed like he wasn't even trying to be mean. It was convincing enough, but he knew that he was just kidding. Whether or not anyone else did was the question.

"Liam! Shut up! That's really mean. Besides, I'm kind of her friend." Callypso slapped on a mean face and punched Liam in the shoulder as hard as she could. To be completely honest she did think that her husband was partially correct, though. Jade was rather rude and mean at times. She didn't seem that bad, though. She couldn't be that bad. It was probably just a whole trust thing that was going on with her mind or something.

"If you would stop trying to squish me i can tell you." Xander said a little breathlessly.

"Enough of this. It is really pointless what your doing. Squashing the kid won't get you anywhere. He can barley breath with you on top of him." Jade said to Lucien. "And as for the friend thing, i really don't care. I'm not even sure why i'm still here." Jade said irritably to Liam. She got up and began walking way. Those people were a bunch of freaks anyway.

Lucien sighed and stood up. He was now feeling grumpy; was fighting back the emotion of anger for only a few reasons. One; he didn't want to be a jerk. Two; he didn't want to kill anyone. Three; well, three was pretty much just there. Reason number three was unspecified, indifferent. Reason number three could make him angry or could help restrain him from doing anything stupid or irrational. "Aw c'mon, man. Get ahold of yourself. You don't want to do that. Just... forget about it." This was said quietly, to himself. He was really trying to fight back all of those unpredictable emotions that were trying to push through. He couldn't allow himself to permit them admission into the world. They would just cause trouble.

Calypso sighed and meandered back to her house. This was boring. She needed adventure. Liam followed her like a lost puppy with nothing better to do. Sighing, she looked around curiously and decided to just do nothing. Later on she'd probably go to the market; though. They needed some fresh produce.

This is so extremely stupid. Why is it that when I get us into trouble all you can do is just be innocent and stuff? Bob shook his imaginary head and did an imaginary palm face. He hated this. He desperatley wanted his own body; to be free from this fleshy prison. Maybe someone could do that for him?

"aww look what you did Lucien everyone is leaving us." Ying said. She had enjoyed being around a lot of people and wanted to make new friends.

I wouldn't have to if you didn't get us into trouble all the time! And besides if i didn't they would kill us. Xander responded getting annoyed at Bob trying to tell him what to do. When Lucien got off of him he immediately stood up and put some distance between them. " The ring lets be come out in the sun for a few hours. But i only have half an hour left then i will have to leave and wait a whole hour before i can use it again." Xander told Lucien answering his question. He stood there waiting in an awkward silence. He felt like everything he did was being watched and analyzed. His first thought was to leave but then if he did that might make Lucien angry again.

Yang out of no where came over and punched in the arm knocking him down. "Thats for trying to hurt my sister." He said seriously.

Ying got up and smacked Yang in the back of the head. "And thats for being a bully and hurting someone who is already injured. Boys....you guys are such over reactors. I'm fine he didn't hurt me. And even if he did the fault would have been mine for interfering. " Ying said just as serious. Was she the only one who understood what was going on with the white haired boy? Or maybe it was just a girl thing and she had more intuition then her brother and Lucien. She held out her hand to Xander and smiled. "Good or bad, nobody should be forced to do things againts their will. And whatever your problem is we can fix it. As i said before 'you do not have to go back to that place and you have a choice'. Even if the other two give up on you, i won't. Nobody should be left to suffer, even if they made mistakes."

We? Thinking for a moment he sighed and told himself to shut up. It was best to keep his mouth shut when he was so irritated. Breathe. Inhale, exhale. It really Isn't that hard, Lucien. "I didn't make them leave. And I'm pretty sure that the red head would've killed Xander if I wasn't literally on top of him." Lucien rubbed his temple lightly, but didn't even look at the boy. He would rather not do that at this exact second.

Listening to what Ying said the prince guessed that she had a point. Too bad it was something that he actually would agree with. His brow twitched a moment with the flood of new thoughts, the new possibillites that seemed to open his mind. Why the heck was it that only the werewolf's mind functioned properly? Perhaps it was because he was around two other werewolves. If not he was going to have to be like this more often. "Hmmpf."

Xander slowly got up and hesitantly took the girls hand. He lowered his eyes he felt so ashamed. He didn't think he deserved her kindness. "thanks" He said quietly.

Ying turned and smiled at Lucien. "I was only kidding about that you know."

Yang rubbed the back of his head and sighed. "Whether he meant it or not, no body hurts you and gets away with it. Not while i'm around."

"In that case you can leave." Ying said teasingly.

"hmmpf. And you think i'm the bully." Yang said.

Lucien felt a little like crap right now, not really knowing what to say or do. It was undetermined and a little strange, too. Normally he would always be this quiet, but not around those two. The twins seemed to be able to bring out the best (and Bob the worst) of him. Sighing he placed his hands on the back of his neck and kicked a pebble. "I'm bored." So now he was complaining. Then again, that was natural. Next, for all he knew, Lucien would be complaining about the water being too cold or having too many bubbles. Being a king probably had its perks.

Ying sighed. "Yeah me to." It was weird not having anything to after such an eventful day. She went over to Lucien and got on his shoulders. "Give me a piggy back ride Grandpa." She said smiling.

So what about Xander? I suppose your not going to want to leave him behind. Yang said to his twin.

Of course not. Ying was still on Lucien's shoulders. "so, maybe we should go somewhere dark for Xander. And i know you don't like him but i wouldn't feel right leaving him alone. Besides wouldn't you rather have him close so you can keep an eye on him? Well in any case will you do it for me?"

Lucien sighed but managed to smile all the same. This was probably going to be interesting enough. "Fine. I'll give you a piggy back ride." The prince laughed lightly and began walking forward. When Ying said something about Xander he stopped abruptoly, more thoughts coming inot his mind. "I guess he can come, but I don't know where we'd go." Why not give the kid a chance, right? Wrong. Somethign bad was bound to happen sooner or later.

Not sure if he wanted to be near Lucien Xander tried to get out of it. "uh..it's ok i can ..." But he stopped because he couldn't think of an excuse.

Ying jumped down from Lucien's shoulders and smiled at the boy. "Stop your worrying. It will be fine. Lucien will behave himself, i'll make sure of that." She said in a playful manner. To Lucien she said "what about a forest or an abandon house somewhere."

Lucien began to ponder places to go. He definitley wasn't going to the woods, or his little shack thing.. Suddenly he had the perfect place. "I've got it! The castle! It's in ruins. I'm sure the ybrids aren't around it. That and..." Lucien trailed off and he began to run off, hoping that the others would follow him. This would help him explore the place where his ancestors once lived, would help him to understand what being a king could possibly be like.

The others followed Lucien without a word. Each having their own reasons for sticking with the prince. Ying went because even though the prince acted like a jerk sometimes. She believed he would one day become a great king. And she wanted to make sure he survived. That and she was also falling for the handsome but not so charming prince. Yang followed simply to look after his sister. Xander followed because he didn't really have a choice and wanted protection from the Queen.
