Happily Ever After? (Yumi)

Lucien sighed. His heart felt as if it had just been crushed. He needed at least a son, a born heir to the throne. Otherwise someone else would try to overthrow the castle because of a stupid land war or something. He wasn't going to allow that to happen. Adopting was an option, but he was sure that she would somehow manage to warm up to the idea. Heck, maybe he could find some way for Yang to have a kid and then that could be the heir. Although, Lucien would like it more if it was his kid. Releasing another sigh, he went back into the breakfast rooom and plopped down in the chair.

Ying silently ate her breakfast. She hopped Lucien didn't take it to hard but looking at him..she could tell he did. Was having kids really that important? Would it be so bad to adopt? She didn't understand why it would matter this much to him. She wished for his sake this didn't bother her so much. But she couldn't help how she felt.

Yang came over to check up on her. "so..how are you doing."

"horrible. I can't believe you guys never told me sooner. Perhaps it wouldn't be such a scary thing now if i had learned when i was suppose to!" She snapped.

Lucien flinched at the end of her sentence to Yang. In some ways, that was his fault. Being sheltered seemed to have a few more negative factors than positive ones. But, at east she knew now. Perhaps it would happen that, with age, came the wanting to have children. He didn't know what it was like to be a woman. Normally he wouldn't care enough to ask, but now... Oh, perhaps he was behaving too seriously and being a little dramatic. If he just let go of the subject then he would be much happier. Happiness would be expected. Dumping all of his mind's load, he sighed lightly and looked around, his eyes bright and alert.

"I wonder how the trees are doing?" Lucien spoke just to break the quietness that had been there. It wasn't often that one would talk about the trees health. After he had said it, Lucien laughed lightly, realizing how stupid that had sounded. Trees. The birds and the bees. Yawn.

The twins looked at Lucien like he was nuts.

Ying wondered if her not wanting kids had sent him off the deep end. She had no idea having kids was that important. "I'm sure the trees are fine. It did rain recently." Sure it was a little weird but she was thankful to have a new topic.

Yang looked at his sister sadly. "I'm sorry, i really am. I just thought i was doing the right thing."

Ying smiled and patted his arm. Sure it made her a little mad but she could understand his reasons.

Lucien had expected that kind of an answer. That kind of a reaction, too. It wasn't everyday that someone just randomly asked about the trees. And yet, considering how the subject was currently on plants, he thought of another question. His eyes were blank, dazed. He took a deep breath, and let it out in a rush. "What about the flowers? And the grass? I suspect that everything is nicely trimmed and neat." Perhaps he was taking his mind a little bit too far off things. But, at least his mood had brightened slightly. That was better than being all gloomy and depressing.

"Hmm. I'm thinking about taking a walk. Would anyone care to accompany me?" If someone doesn't I'm thinking I may just 'accidentally' fall off a cliff. "I do hope the sun is out." That may brightne my mood. "Perhaps I should go change into more suitable footwear first." I really need to shut up because I'm mangaing to annoy myself.

Ying jumped up and down excitedly. "I will! It will be our first morning walk as husband and wife" She hooked her arm around Lucien and squealed happily. Suddenly she was feeling really hyper. Perhaps eating chocolate in the morning was not such a good idea. This should be interesting. Hopefully his mood would get better.

Yippee! Sarcasm, of course. Although a happy person may help brighten my mood. Doubtable. Lucien sighed, but kept the happy look planted firmly on his face. It would be best for him to be nice, remain happy. No need to live his life in a cage of sorrow. "Well then, I suggest that we... Head through the gardens and then out near the front yards. Say, has the bridge been lowered? Did anyone fall into the moat?" It would be rather fun to throw someone into the moat. But, he wouldn't wish that upon anyone. He would only do it to someone who royally ticked him off.

Ying looked at Lucien sternly. "Your in a bad mood aren't you. I can tell. I'm sorry i really am but can't you at least drop it. We have centuries of life left there really is no hurry. Maybe in a century or two i will be ready." She folded her arms. Lucien being upset made her feel bad. The werewolf really didn't like it when people were angry or sad. There had to be a way to make Lucien happy and get over the baby thing.

Lucien tried his best not to get hurt and break into tears. It wasn't ike that for him. But he refused to let himself do so. He simply couldn't just 'drop it' or 'let it go'. Something inside of him just wouldn't do it. Perhaps it was just to get an heir before he was assassinated. That was probably it. But a century or two? There was no way that he could wait that long. Trying to keep his voice calm without making it seem icy, he spoke his mind.... his heart at the same time. "It's fine. I would just... I'd rather not talk about it right at the moment until I've got my head on straight." He nodded, sealing the words. Hopefully... ugh. This walk had better'd work.

Ying sighed but didn't press it farther. Bothering him about it wouldn't make him happier. Maybe the walk would take his mind off of it. She was annoyed but sad at the same time. It was really no fun when Lucien was upset. "ok then, lets go. Lead the way....wait.....if were married i can't call you by the nick name grandpa anymore. I have to find a new one for you." She said smiling at the thought. Now she could find a better and more fun thing to call him.

Yang shrugged and went back to finish eating. They would work it out. This was just normal couple stuff.....just slightly more complecated.

Lucien raised an eyebrow. A new nickname? Yes, she had a point. If she did go around calling him grandpa then, well... it seemed a little incestous. Not to mention creepy. The change of subjects seemed to have altered his thoughts completely. "Alright then. Do you have anything in mind?" As long as it wasn't something totally idiotic, like Daddy or something, he would be fine. As long as it wasn't cute, either. Smushums wouldn't do. Cute and creepy didn't mix, so nothing of the sort. He wondered what she would manage to think of as he walked out into the gardens. The air was frgrant and the flowers were in bloom, making everythying bright and colorful. The bees were buzzing around contentedly, the gardeners tending to a bunch of random plants. Ecerything seemed happy.

The werewolf girl tried to think of a new nick name as the two walked. She actually had no clue what she was going to call him now. Ying had called him grandpa for so long it was just weird to now be calling him something new. Cup cake wouldn't work she already tried to use that one in the past but he didn't like it. It needed to be perfect. Something that would fit just him. "well how about prince charming?" She asked teasingly. This would be hard, maybe it would be better to let him pick one out for himself.

Lucien shook his head, hair falling into place around his pale face. He allowed a small smile to creep up and consume his nuetral facial expression. "That isn't very suiting for my personality, I don't think. Unless, of course, you think I'm charming." Lucien thought for a moment. If he got a nickname, perhaps he could give Ying one. "If I may, I'd like to call you serendipity. I do like that word." He shrugged, none of his true feelings being shown through. Perhaps he would be given a more harsh, short, too the point nickname. Those were always fun.

Ying smiled at his remarks."you can call me what ever you want. " Thinking about his personality didn't really help. There just were not any good nick names to fit him. She didn't want to pick something bad that would hurt his feelings. Maybe she could make one up. " How about Rotcetorp? It's protector spelled backwards. To be honest you can be a real jerk at times but deep down i know that you care a lot about people. Your our protector Lucien....or at the very least mine." The were smiled at him and gave him a quick hug. She hoped he would be ok with that nick name. If not then she supposed she would just have to call him by his real name.

Lucien raised an eyebrow. She sure did have a quick little mind, that one. He wouldn't have been abe to think of the word alone, even without thinking of the way it was spelled backwards. He thought about it for a moment. "I guess you could call me that. Although I doubt you could keep it up for too long. It's a bit... exotic, I guess. Why not shorten it down to Royce? It's just switching the 't' with a 'y'." He shrugged. That wasn't overboard at all. Serendipity and Rotcetorp. It was kind of funny, when e thought about it.

Ying nodded. "Yeah and instead of Serendipity you can just call me Serena. Just an a instead of a d. I like the names. Their fun ones but they also sort of mean something." She commented. "So what do you want to do now Royce?" She kept walking. Now that the new names had been sorted the were wondered what they would do now. They still had quite a bit of time left until they had to start doing royalty stuff.
