Bumblebees and Pollenation

Lucien shrugged. "I told you my name and then it was about our pasts. ANd then you said something about that stinking and then I said that. I think." Lucien looked to the side. Huh. He pulled his hair back and looked around quietly. This was boring. Too boring. Something was going to happen. And soon. He sniffed the air, twitched his ears, and studied the surroundings.

"Yea, I guess so." Alea noticed something was wrong immediatly when he started taking note of everything around him. "What? What is it?" Alea asks in a hushed voice.

Lucien looked at Alea and put a finger to his lips. What was that? A faint scent was approaching, the sound of footsteps out there somewhere. What the heck was going on? Whatever was out there, it smelled horrible. Lucien grabbed Alea's arm, stood up, and looked around. "Trust me." He pulled her over to a nearby tree and hid behind it, watching the figure that was approcahing. They didn't seem threatening, but his instincts told him to keep hidden.

Alea obeyed what he said and kept quiet. She hid behind the tree not knowing what to do next. What could it be? Her sharp hearing picked up a rustle in the bushes behind them. She wiped around and held her breath. Every mussle in her body tenced for what might be comming.

Lucien watched. A man, dark clothing, pale skin, came out of the bushes. He seemed harmless, but he was carring and sword and shield. He looked around, scanned the ground for footprints. He was looking for someone, something. Lucien figured that it was him. He put a finger to his lips and climbed up the tree, digging his claws into it. Once on a sturdy limb, he stuck his hand down for Alea. Perhaps that man wasn't looking for him? Or perhaps he was an assassin.

Alea refused hs hand and climbed up the tree easily. She hadn't seen the man, but she knew someone was there. The question was, who was it? And what did he want?

The man looked up in the trees. Lucien swallowed. Had he seen them? The man looked away. Apparently he hadn't. Lucien sniffed the air. What race was he? Was he a bounty hunter or something? Jumping down, he went to grab the man by the back of his neck. But the man was too fast, he whirled around, sword drawn, and glared at Lucien. "I can take you dead or alive. But I do need your assistance." Definitley a vampire, Lucien decided. Staring at the man, Lucien decided to speak up. "Who are you? Why do you want me? What good am I? Where would you take me? How do you think you will conquer me? I'm smarter and stronger than you are." Lucien didn't dare add in the fact that there was an archer in the tree (Alea) or that the man was faster.

Alea kept silent to keep her hidden position. She knocked her bow and took aim, careful not to let the man see it. She drew back the string but did not let go just yet. She was waiting for just the right moment...

"None of that concerns you. Put down your weapon, elf, or you die. I'm not that dumb as to be completely oblivious to the noise about me." The man pointed his blade at Lucien's throat. Lucien took a step back and shifted into his human werewolf form. He then shifted quickly into his little werewolf form and snarled at the man, thinking as quickly as he could. Perhaps that man would reveal his weaknesses.

Alea was shocked the man had heard her. She lowered her bow slowly keepimg her eye onhim. What should she do now?

Lucien knew that this was a vampire. Fire would work, but it wouldn't completely kill him. Shifting back into a vampire, he flipped backwards. "Alea, have you any way to make fire? If so, light your arrow and shoot him in the throat." Lucien went at the man, attempting to backhand him across the face. The man caught his wrist and pushed it backwards. Lucien yelped in pain, before bringing his leg up and kicking the man in the groin. No matter what species he was, the guy fell to the ground. Swallowing, he took a step back. This wasn't fun.

Alea took out some flint. She was always prepared. She held an arrow under her arm and struck the two peices together. It took a few tries, butshe finally got the arrow to catch fire. She knocked her bow with it, drew back the string, and let the arrow fly.

Lucien sighed in relief once the arrow was fired. It hit the man, caught his clothing on fire. He walked out of the area, in flames. Looking at Alea, Lucien shifted into a Vampire. "We should get going, now." Lucien looked around. Hopefully the guy would come back later, when Lucien was alone. That would be much better, because he wouldn't have to worry about anyone else getting hurt.

Alea was relifed when the arrow hit the man. She put her bow away and walked next to Lucien. "Who was that? What was he?"

Lucien looked at the elf. She sure was quick to ask questions. "I have no freakin' idea who he was. Sure enough, though, he was going to try and kidnap me. No doubt I'll have trouble for weeks. Vampire, of course, for he... well, his eyes, complexion, and how he heard your bow." Lucien shrugged and started walking away, at a fast, unsure, frightened pace. This wasn't very fun, if you were to ask him.

Alea thought for a moment and quickly followed after him. "I've never seen a vampire before. Are they all like that? Evil, I mean."
