Bumblebees and Pollenation

Lucien laughed, a harsh, bitter, cruel sound. "Most of them are civilized. Heck, I'm a partial vampire. Only the ones on a strict blood diet could be like that guy." He shook his head, aware of all his surroundings. He didn't want an ambush or something of the sort. He was in a grumpy mood now, of course. His normal mood swings were kicking in. It was amazing how often his mood could be crushed by some random event.

"Well, all I know is I hope he never shows his face around here again. He creeps me out. Anyway, where are we going?"

Lucien chuckled. "Away from here. It would be best if we parted ways after we get to the next town. I don't want anyone else who has spent a few hours with me to be added to a hit list, Alea." The man looked at the girl, his yellow eyes helping express his seriousness. Hopefully the girl knew what was good for her. That would be nice, because it wouldn't be as hard to get her to leave.

Alea raised an eyebrow. "A hit list? Intresting... I hope you know that I am not one to bback down at danger. I love the thrill of the fight so count me in!"

Lucien looked at the elf with a bored expression on his face. "Really? You don't want to get involved with these guys. They find you, they kill you. You're dead. End of story. No happy thoughts involved. You can run, but you can't hide. They see and hear everything." Lucien continued walking, just now noticing how much taller he was compared to the girl. It was rather weird, once he began to think about it. Why was he so much taller than everyone?

Alea stiffleed a chuckle. "Oh belive me, I can handle them. Compared to the other adventures I've had, this is nothing."

"Oh really?" Lucien thought the girl was being totally overconfident. Had she ever been around a vampire in her life? Was she really dumb enough to hang around an enemy of the nymphs? Shaking his head, Lucien looked the elf over. "Tell me then. How would you deal with... this?" Lucien made sure he was a vampire at the moment and moved around Alea astoundingly fast, grabbing her, putting his teeth to her throat, within seconds. He didn't bite, though. The human told him not to.

"And then, you die. What would you do? You can't even tell they are vampires until it is too late. And with the nymphs... elementals on steriods. You'd die. Snapped like a twig." Lucien stomped on a nearby fallen branch. It did well and broke in half with a sickening 'snap'.

Alea froze for a moment then relaxed a moment. "Then I'll just have to not trust anyone, won't I?" She was quiet for a moment. "I'll take my chances with danger, thanks."

"Trust doesn't really have anything to do about it." Lucien was slowly beginning to regret buying her that snowcone. He turned away from the branch and scanned the area for a moment. It seemed strangely like someone was going to approach soon, or they had started already. That wasn't good, was it? Probably not.
