The shakey Egg (Open)

Zurth sat on the cold ocean sand. Staring at the egg. Watching it shake, as if it was enjoying the cold, and the sound of the sea. The egg wiggled, and seemed to giggle around. Fascinated he continued to watch the egg. It seemed for him that this egg was his only family, and whatever hatched out of this egg would be his family. Zurth watched the sun slowly set. The sky mixing with colors of purple, and orange.
He was so set on watching the sunset, that he missed the egg crack, and a small white dragon fall to the sand. it was the sound of the dragons cry that caught his attention. He immedatly looked at the Dragon, and the Dragon returned with his own look.

Keykku made her way toward the ocean, Finn trailing behind her as always. "Finn, if you don't pick up you're large clumsy feet and get moving we'll miss the sunset!" The young girl said as she began to run forward, picking up speed with every step. Finn was right at her side and as soon as Keykku began sowing down the dragon came to an abrupt stop. Mimicking the dragon, the blonde came to a halt.

"What's wrong this time, Finn? Forget something?" Keykku stopped herself from talking too loud, copying the dragon's cautious movements. Finn grabbed the back of the tall girl's skirt and pulled her back a few feet. Keykku just watched and began to wonder what was wrong with the little thing. "Finn! We're gunna miss it, buddy! Please hurry it up! I don't care if there's trouble; I have my sword! You're here! Honestly..." Keykku drifted off to just mumbling to herself and scuffed her feet in the grass, somewhat dissapointed in the black dragon. Finn raised her snout in the air and shook her head before walking cautiously forward. Keykku didn't stand up and follow, but instead sat there and watched, arms crossed and a pouting expression on her face.

After a minute of being gone, the black dragon returned and yanked Keykku's skirt before heading back in the same direction; toward the beach. This time Keykku stood and trudged forward after Finn, glaring at the small dragon as it led the way. The noises her feet were making were actually quite loud, but Keykku really didn't care about stealth right now. Not at all. Making it to the beach just before the sunset, Keykku sighed with releif just as it turned to it's most beautiful and wonderous stage. Pale eyes totally absorbed in the magnificent colors, Keykku didn't even notice the man five yards away from her, or the white dragon as it hit the sand. Finn stood behind Keykku, observing everything around them.

Zurth and the Dragon both looked up at the two new comers. "Come to see the Sunset?" Zurth turned his eyes towards the setting sun, then returned to look at the two. Zurth gave them a friendly smile, and looked at his new white dragon. He felt as if he already knew the dragon and that the dragon knew him just as well.
Zurth stood up, and looked down at the dragon. The dragon looked up. "Well if you'd like to watch it alone, we'd be happy to leave." Zurth was unsure if he would want to get involved with another Dragon Rider, especially one who would probably enforce him to do things her way. As if there was a right way to live with a dragon. As if there was a right way to teach a dragon.

"We mainly came here for the sunset, but the ocean is nice, too." Keykku continued staring at the sunset until the man said something else. Shaking her head once, violently, she seemingly snapped back into reality. "You don't have to leave; we don't mind." Pale eyes darting back and forth, Keykku observed the outside area; the color of the sand, the rate the waves were coming in. Finn's position behind her. Looking back to the man, she smiled lightly and offered her hand.

"I'm Keykku, Keykku Miller. You are?" Finn moved around a little behind her, laying down in the sand. Looking back to the sky and the ocean, feelings of peace filled the girl and made her want to watch and admire; not to break the sound of the waves or the serenity of the sunset. Looking away from the sky Keykku's gaze shifted to the white dragon and then to Finn. Realizing that he was also a freind of a dragon, the girl was going to be more cautious to speak next time, and her gaze shifted back to the sunset.

Zurth unsure if he wanted to stay, stood looking at her. Waiting for a signal of whether he should go or stay. Then he heard her introduce herself. "I'm Zurth, but most people just call me Zee." He gave another smile. Zurth couldn't decide if he was going to like her, or if he was just going to hate her. She difficult to choose. Women were always difficult to read.
"Beautiful isn't it?" Zurth looked over at the setting sun. His eyes watched and gazed. The black dragon behind her caught his attention. "What's her name?" Zurth didn't know how to tell if a dragon was male or female, but it was worth a guess.

Keykku stared at Zee for a moment before looking to the waves and the calming, dangerous ocean. Deciding to answer his pretty much rhetorical question, she smiled and decided just to agree with him. "One of nature's wonders, that's for sure." Looking to the setting sun until Zee asked about Finn, Keykku looked back at the man. She could talk about dragons all day; especially her's. Dragons were practically her life.

"She is called Finn, real name Serafina." Keykku said this happily, smiling wide and decided to ask about the white dragon. "What is his name?" The blonde smiled, eyes reavealing her to be wondering and curious. Secretly she was hoping that the dragon was a 'he'. Perhaps it was a she? Sticking her hands behind her back, she began to twiddle her thumbs. After this it led to her shifting her weight from foot to foot, in order to keep her from talking more.

Zurth looked at his new born dragon. He thought for a moment trying to think."I haven't named him yet. He's just a new born." Zurth couldnt stop trying to come up with a name. He never thought about naming it. He began to think about names, and yet he could never come up with a name. Then Zurth felt as if he could hear the dragons thought in his mind.
"Garoth...His name is Garoth." Zurth tried to think about how the name popped into his mind. He'd ignore it for now, and ponder at it at a different time. "You look like you have something to say, So please feel free to speak it. I would be glad to listen." Zurth gave a peaceful smile.

Keykku had not expected the dragon to be a newborn, but looking closely she could see the remnants of an eggshell. After she had stopped moving around, her hands fell back to attention positision and she began to chew her lip. Why was it so hard for her not to talk? Perhaps she should work on that. After saying that the dragon had no name, Zee said that the white dragon was called Garoth. Apparently he was a quick thinker. Or perhaps Garoth spoke to Zee as Finn did Keykku (Although this was very rare for the black dragon)? Only twice had she spoke to Keykku in her entire life.

As Keykku was granted permission to speak, she decided against it after she had lost her train of thought. Despratley trying to remember what it was, she tilted her head slighty to the side. "I would say something, although I seem to have lost that thought." Closing her eyes for a moment she tried to recall her lost thought. Opening them quickly, she looked to Zee and shook her head lightly. "I got nuthin'." It had to have been something about a dragon, she knew, but what was it?

"Well I'm always willing to lend an ear." He gave another peaceful smile, then looked down at Garoth. Zurth sat down, and watched the sun set. Occasionally looking up at Keykku. He laid down in the sand, and Garoth laid against him. The two were well ready to sleep, but being loners they had no where to sleep but where they laid. Zurth closed his eyes, but remained awake. Still occasionally looking at Keykku.

Keykku was humbled by Zee's comment, kind of shocked by it, too. Words had a power of their own, that was for sure. Keykku plopped down in the sand, blue outfit becoming covered in the dusty material. Paying no attention to this, she looked out to the ocean and began to become engulfed in her thoughts. When she finally took the time to think about things, she would be trapped in her own mind until there was something loud enough to snap her out of it, or she could snap herself out of it before it took over.

Keykku began to think about her past. Her father, brothers, and the war. Finn moved up and lay beside the blonde, dark eyes seemingly worrisome. Keykku stood slowly, still surrounded in her thoughts. This was part of the reason she liked to talk, it kept her mind occupied. Like a sleepwalker, she slowly made her way closer to the ocean, sitting a few feet away from the ocean's cold touch. As the water crept closer she splashed her face with it; the icy feeling waking her up.

After three splashes she was wide awake and attentive. Her left leg falling asleep, Keykku stood up and walked along the shoreline for a few moments, before looking toward Finn. It seemed that she had fell asleep. It was getting to be dark, so Keykku drew her sword and continued on. Might as well start a fire, right? Something to do, at least. Spotting a dark cluster of trees, she approached them quickly and looked for something she could use to start a fire. After finding a little wood she replaced her sword and began to collect pieces both big and small.

After setting the first load of wood down, Keykku moved and began to attempt and start a small fire. The fire needed to be fed more wood, or else it definitley wouldn't even last fifteen minutes. In a search for more wood she realized how far away from Zee and Finn she had drifted. Picking up another, larger load of wood, she turned back toward the fire that was now fading slowly.

Making it back just in the nick of time, the fire began to accept the wood and flared to life once again. Pleased with her work, the blonde sat herself down about four feet away from the glowing mass of heat. Hugging her knees to her chest, she smiled to herself and began to mess around in the sand.

Zurth yawned, and waited for his eyes to adapt to the darkening area. he watched Keykku walk away. He was tempted to speak, but he preferred to watch her and see what she was doing. She was resourceful, but it seems she didn't fear anything that would be attracted by the burning flames.
"Can I ask you something Keykku?" Zurth looked over at her, his eyes wide open staring at her. Garoth laid his head in the cold sand, away from the fire he enjoyed the cold, and the fire brought him uncomfortable feeling. The cold ran through his veins, and he enjoyed to be cold.

Finn wandered over and laid as close to the fire as possible, enjoying the warmth. It was a most comfortable place for her to be right now. Finn reminded Keykku of an overgrown dog, laying close to the fire and always seeming to migrate to the warmest spot. "Ask away." The blonde responded to Zee's question, shooting him a light, friendly smile as she continued to 'play' in the sand. Keykku began to sketch the outline of a dragon beside her in the sand, her eyes focusing on the sand and her ears patiently awaiting Zee's question.

Zurth looked over at her. "why are you out here? I figured a cute girl like you would be in a nice house, And not sitting outside by a fire with A man who doesn't care about where he's going." he looked at awaiting a response. ( I'm on my dads iPhone sorry it's short)

Keykku listened patiently, but stopped drawing in the sand and looked up at Zee. Cute girl? She'd never been called 'cute' before. Perhaps that was because she rarely spoke to anyone but Finn and a few of her cousins... Zee's question sent her mind reeling and coming up with so many questions of it's own that it was pathetic. Silencing her thoughts, she responded to his question as truthfully as possible, a small but warm smile appearing on her pale face. "I'm out here because... well, that's hard to answer. I guess it would be because I get kind of bored where I live. It's too quiet and... lonely. I only have Finn and a few cousins and none of them are much for conversation. The ocean reminds me of my parents, which is probably why I chose to come here. I have a house but it's not really all that nice." Finn stirred and seemed to become uncomfortable at the mere mention of the blonde's parents. The black dragon hadn't known her mother, but her father was definitley something else.

Keykku moved the sand around lightly, erasing her picture. The smile faded a little as she sketched, still keeping her mind occupied. Feeling she had to ask, she spoke once again. "What do you mean, you don't care about where you're going? If it's too hard to explain then you don't have to answer." As she stopped drawing, she erased the picture once again. Looking to the fire, she watched as it slowly ate away at the wood. She was always treated as an outcast; out of her whole family she was the only blonde one, the only one with blue eyes, the only one with the little black dragon, the only one with the surname of Miller. She was going to prove that she was worthy of the real name of her family, though. She had too, or she'd never feel accomplished.

"I do what I have to do to live. I don't care if I end up in prison or if i'm a prison of war. I have no family, all I have is the clothes on my back, and Garoth. We are going to roam around, doing what we need to." He looked back to the sky, and began to think of where he would go now.

Keykku listened patiently to what he had to say, glad he could answer her question. Staring at the fire once again, her eyes grew a little more lively as she stared at the beautiful little bundle of flames. She had nothing to say, nothing to do, but watch the fire till it dies. Unless Zee wanted to talk, of course. The blonde was always welcome to a little freindly conversation.
